2015 is a year that sped by, but no need to bust out the globe to watch Amy and Scott move around the world. We rang in the new year in January, and then Scott’s parents paid us a visit in Austin. After watching The Daytripper on PBS, we decided to check out Bastrop for Scott’s birthday weekend. There is way more to the cute town than you see passing by quickly on Hwy 71. We enjoyed our time at the B&B and checking out the quaint downtown. February was a fairly quiet month except that we both traveled for work. Amy led some training in San Antonio and thankfully missed out on the nasty weather to hit Texas. In March we got to see comedian Kevin James and enjoy visits from Amy’s parents and brother. We went on a hill country day trip with my folks.
April was a really quiet month other than Scott traveling out to California where he dominated at a rubber chicken launching game. In May while Scott was galavanting to Google offices in California and NYC, Amy traveled to East Texas to visit the family and say a final goodbye to her sweet great-aunt Wilma. Amy participated in her friend Nicole school’s career day and got to say a quick hello and hook ‘em to Vince Young, who is very very tall. Amy and her friend Sharon were mesmerized by the beauty of Ballet Austin's Swan Lake. We said goodbye to Zippy the Accord and hello to Stella (aka SCV) the CRV over the Memorial Day weekend. The month ended with a night listening to Jay Leno do a live stand up gig! When June rolled around we got to celebrate the marriage of college friend Jeff while checking out the cute town of La Grange. Again The Daytripper helped point out the key things to visit. In mid-June we road in the Republic of Texas (ROT) Rally motorcycle parade. Google hosted a fun drive in movie event complete with a double feature and food trucks. Towards the end of June, we headed to Longview to celebrate Amy’s Papaw’s marriage to Mopsy! Such a fun family gathering for the event. They have been interviewed by the local news about their special story of finding love.
In July, Amy became the church board secretary (a post for two years). We had a really fun birthday in Zilker park to celebrate our friend Tera’s birthday. The field next to us had people playing quidditch like in Harry Potter. The month was rounded out with another college friend, Chandler's, wedding in Houston. We squeezed in a very short visit with Grammy (Amy’s grandmother). August arrived and we attended the annual Geppert family reunion in the DFW area. The following weekend we all gathered together again to say goodbye to Mama Marcia in Bryan. In September, Amy celebrated three years at Novotus. For Amy’s birthday weekend, we drove to Fredericksburg for our almost annual B&B/winery tour!
October was a pretty busy month that started off with a Dublin Googler staying with us a couple of days. Amy saw a play called The Screwtape Letters with some friends and traveled to Ft. Worth for her cousin Elicia’s baby shower. We attended a fun event at Alamo Drafthouse to celebrate the Back to the Future date (10.21.2015). The UT/Kansas State football game was really enjoyable, despite the downpour, especially since our Horns won! Our cul de sac neighbors gathered together for Halloween for a potluck and candy give away. The first weekend of November, we flew to San Francisco to enjoy a weekend in the Sonoma wine country. We checked out several wineries in the area and the cute town of Santa Rosa before driving down the coast to take Amy back to the Bay Area to catch her flight home. Scott stuck around for the next week for some paid fun. The week of Thanksgiving was very special indeed as Elicia’s (Amy’s cousin) daughter made her debut on our grandmother’s birthday! She’s precious and perfect. Thanksgiving itself was spent in Longview with the Kings. When December rolled around we attended Scott’s cousin Josh’s graduation from UT’s music school, who played guitar at our wedding. Can you believe four and a half years have flown by?? The rest of the month is full with the Nutcracker ballet with Tera/Nicole/Amy C, office Christmas parties, the new Star Wars movie and a Josh Groban concert with Sharon. Also, Scott passed the final inspection for his workshop addition to the house.
