Summer 2013 Recap

Wow!  Is is the last day of August??  Not sure how many out there are reading this anymore now that Google Reader is gone, but hey I thought I'd give an update to the craziness that was the summer of 2013.

S planned a secret 2 year anniversary trip.  He packed for me and everything.  It was amazing!!!  We ended up in Bahamas visiting two different islands: Long Island/Little Deadman's Cay and New Providence/Paradise Island.  You can get a full recap of all the fun over at S's blog.  My hubby gets "hubby of the year" for sure for finding a private island to rent for just us!  The photos below are just a peek.

The other big event of the summer was my cousin's wedding!  I was a MOH (matron of honor) and got to stand by my cousin on her big day!  It was a super fun weekend.

We had a sad time in early August where we lost my grandfather.  He was so dear to me. While it was a sad time, the whole family was able to gather in his honor and celebrate his great life.

When we've actually been in town, we've worked on the workshop. The photo below is from 2 weekends ago when the rest of the joists were removed. Today we have been working on the column that will go between the garage doors and hold the beam on that side of the new floor.  A post with all the new updates regarding the house will be on S's blog.

S's grandad hit a HUGE milestone last week!  He turned 100!!  A whole century!  We drove up to the Texas Panhandle last weekend for the big party.  The cousins in CO had a closer drive than the Texans!

The latest news is that our newest niece has arrived!  She made her debut at 10:02pm on Thursday August 22nd.  We cannot wait to meet her in person in October!!
