New Mexico Girls Trip - Feb 2025

We settled on a girls trip to Ruidoso, NM to stay at one friend's mom's house for Feb 2025.  One friend and I met at DFW and were on the same flight to NM. We both had an adventure in the airport that morning with both of our flights not going out on time from our home airports, but we thankfully were able to make the early afternoon flight. 

After landing, we hopped in the car (the other two drove in from Texas) and headed to the mountains. Sadly, there was hardly any snow so our plans of skiing went out the window. We had dinner then headed to the house to relax.

The next morning we decided against skiing due to the poor conditions, but still drove up to Ski Apache for the views as we rode the gondola to the peak.

On the way back to town, we stopped and rode the Screaming Eagle roller coaster. It was an absolute blast. We all had smiles plastered on our faces.

Some of us took a little hike and examined the burn scar and then enjoyed some beer at Downshift Brewery and walked along the main shopping area of Ruidoso.

For our adventure on Saturday, we decided to drive to White Sands National Park. We had a blast sledding down the dunes. Made us feel like kids again.

Next up was drinks overlooking the sunset at Inn of the Mountain Gods to celebrate L's bday. We arrived with a wedding ceremony going on right where we were wanted to be so had to be patient for a bit. We were entertained by Bo Rivers before heading back to the house.

The following morning we somehow Tetris-ed in all our stuff and drove to the airport. The return flight was uneventful, which was great.  I was greeted at the airport by R and my mom! Poor guy came down with strep as I was leaving town.
