S had a chance to visit San Diego so I jumped at the chance to tag along and we were able to see out dear friends that moved back out there last summer. They recently bought a home so we were excited to see it - and them!
After landing, we met up with our friends in Little Italy for pizza
Saturday morning we tagged along as part of our friend's art class tour. She lead her class on a tour of the Italian art at the San Diego art museum in Balboa Park.

After the art tour, we visited the Photographic Art museum. We hit it on the right day, it was their 30th anniversary and we got in for a buck (the price back in 1983). Next stop was the model train museum. oh my. so. much. fun. It was really fun looking at all the different types of model trains and the scenes the people had put so much time and effort in to.

Next up was the botanical gardens area.
That evening we were able to take in a ball game at the Petco Park. It was the Padres vs the Diamondbacks. I was thankful for the free "beach" towel when we entered the park because I got really chilly.

On Sunday we enjoyed breakfast at our friend's new house and then walked along the beach.

I ended my trip with a bite to eat at El Indio in honor of Cinco De Mayo before boarding the plane home. Such a fun trip - now we need to find another excuse to go back!
