We decided to escape Austin for our
6th anniversary and head to San Diego to meet up with some friends and meet their little one. After some airport Salt Lick BBQ, we boarded our delayed plane to the west coast. Upon landing, we were glad to see the San Diego airport now has a fancy new rental car garage rather than the sketchy places under the freeway. It was pretty late, so we just checked into the hotel and went to sleep.
The next morning we checked out the Google San Diego office and then headed to our friends' for breakfast.

After some tasty scones, we made our way to
Liberty Public Market. It was so fun to wonder the space and figure out what to eat. My crepe was amazing.

After we stuffed ourselves, we watched a couple planes land and then headed over to Cabrillo National Monument - more

The following morning after delicious coffee cake, we walked along Torrey Pines State Beach.

After a donut at VG's donuts in Cardiff, we walked around the meditation gardens.
We then had a late lunch in Encinitas before we relaxed the rest of the afternoon. A trip to San Diego would not be complete without a stop at El Indio for dinner before the flight out! Fun anniversary weekend!
